Last day – April 15th
The Italian Giovanni Coccoluto is the winner of the MacLaren Laser Standard under 21 World Championship.
In the last day of this championship, the sailors completed only one race, the sixth and last one, which started at 11 am and ended at 11:47. The conditions were wind of 7 kts from 180°. The Race Committee started another race after this one (at 12:17), but it was abandoned in the third leg because the wind decreased to less than 4 kts.
Low wind was one of the characteristics of this event. In fact, there were two races programmed for each day and they could just complete six races in total. However, it was a nice championship and the competitors showed a lot of enthusiasm though the bad conditions.
We are also glad to have received 29 sailors from 19 different countries: Argentina, Austria, Australia, Canada, Curaçao, Chile, Croatia, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Japan, Norway, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Slovene, Ukraine, Uruguay and United States.
The final results are: 1° Giovanni Coccoluto (Italy), 2° Steinfurth Stig (Denmark) and 3° Arian Aleksander (Poland).
Between the sailors under 18, these are the first positions: 1° Santiago Falasca (Argentina), 2° Paches Georgii (Ukraine) and 3° Rizika Jake (United States).
At 5 pm we will have the prize giving award and some entertainment for the sailors. Congratulations for all of them and hope they have fun this afternoon!
Último día – 15 de abril
El italiano Giovanni Coccoluto se consagró campeón del Mundial MacLaren Laser Standard under 21.
En el ultimo día, los competidores completaron una sola regata, la sexta y última, que comenzó a las 11:00 horas y terminó 11:47, con viento de 7 nudos del 180°. La Comisión de Regata largó otra regata después (a las 12:17), pero la anuló en la tercera pierna porque el viento disminuyó a menos de 4 nudos de intensidad.
El viento leve fue una de las características de esta competencia. De hecho, había dos regatas programadas para cada día y se pudieron completar seis en total. Sin embargo, fue un buen campeonato y los competidores mostraron mucho entusiasmo a pesar de las condiciones.
Estamos complacidos de haber contado con la presencia de 29 regatistas de 19 países: Argentina, Austria, Australia, Canadá, Curaçao, Chile, Croacia, Dinamarca, España, Italia, Japón, Noruega, Perú, Polonia, Portugal, Eslovenia, Ucrania, Uruguay y Estados Unidos.
Los resultados finales son: 1° Giovanni Coccoluto (Italia), 2° Steinfurth Stig (Dinamarca) y 3° Arian Aleksander (Polonia).
Entre los competidores debajo de 18 años, estas fueron las primeras posiciones: 1° Santiago Falasca (Argentina), 2° Paches Georgii (Ucrania) y 3° Rizika Jake (Estados Unidos).
A las 17:00 se realizará la entrega de premios y un agasajo para todos los participantes. ¡Felicitamos a todos ellos por su desempeño y esperamos que se diviertan esta tarde!
Day 5 - April 14th
In the fifth day of races, luckily the wind accompanied us much more than the previous days and the sailors could complete two races.
The first one started at 1:32 pm with 5 kts from the SE. The first sailor to cross the finish line was Arian Aleksander (Poland), followed by Giovanni Coccoluto (Italy) and Stig Steinfurth (Denmark).
After this race the wind decreased, and the Race Committee had to wait until 5:25 pm for the last race of the day, which started with approximately 6 kts from the 115° and finished at 6:11 pm with 7 kts. The first positions in this race were turned and the first sailor to cross the finish line was Giovanni Coccoluto, followed by Arian Aleksander. In the third place arrived Uros Krasevec (Slovene).
Tomorrow is the last day of this championship and races will start at 11 am. Good luck for all the sailors in their last races!
Día 5 - 14 de abril
En el quinto día de competencia el viento fue más favorable que los días previos y los regatistas pudieron correr dos regatas.
La primera regata del día empezó a las 13:32 con 5 nudos del SE. El primero en cruzar la línea de llegada fue Arian Aleksander (Polonia), seguido por Giovanni Coccoluto (Italia) y Stig Steinfurth (Dinamarca).
Al terminar esta prueba el viento disminuyó, y la Comisión de Regata tuvo que esperar hasta las 17:25 para largar la última regata del día, que comenzó con aproximadamente 6 nudos del 115° y terminó a las 18:11 con 7 nudos. Las primeras posiciones se invirtieron en esta prueba y el primero en cruzar la línea de llegada fue Giovanni Coccoluto, seguido por Arian Aleksander. En tercer lugar llegó Uros Krasevec (Eslovenia).
Mañana es el último día del campeonato y las regatas comenzarán a las 11:00 horas. ¡Le deseamos mucha suerte a todos los competidores en el último día!
Day 4 - April 13th
The bad conditions continue and the sailors couldn’t compete today. The races were programmed for 12 pm, but at that time there was very low wind and the Race Committee raised the AP flag and waited one hour. At 1 pm, they put the flag down and raised it again, and at 2 pm they did it once more.
Finally, at 3:45 pm the RC decided to postpone the races for tomorrow. Now there are three races scheduled for tomorrow, back to back. Hope we have better luck with the forecast!
Día 4 - 13 de abril
Continúan las malas condiciones y hoy el viento no permitió que se corra ninguna regata. Las pruebas del día estaban programadas para las 12:00 horas, pero en ese horario había muy poco viento y la Comisión de Regata izó bandera de inteligencia y esperó una hora. A las 13:00, se bajó la bandera y se volvió a subir, y lo mismo ocurrió a las 14:00.
Finalmente, a las 15:45, la CR decidió posponer las regatas para la siguiente fecha. Así que para mañana hay tres regatas programadas, una a continuación de la otra. ¡Esperamos que el tiempo mejore!
Day 3 - April 12th
The races were programmed for 12 pm but at that time there was very low wind (less than 4 kts) and the Race Committee decided to raise AP flag and keep the fleet in land while waiting for the wind to increase. So the sailors waited in the tent, and to kill time they started playing a mini soccer game and even organized a ping pong championship between them!
Luckily, in the afternoon the wind increased to 5 kts from the East and the RC put the AP flag down and sent the boats to the water to sail the 3rd race of this championship that started at 4:57 and ended at 6:01. The winner of this race was Giovanni Coccoluto, from Italy. Behind him arrived Arian Aleksander (Poland) and then Jean Paul de Trazegnies (Peru).
The first positions after three races completed are these: 1° Stig Steinfurth (Denmark), 2° Ignasi López Carcari (Spain) and 3° Giovanni Coccoluto (Italy).
Tomorrow races are programmed for 12 pm. The forecast says that there will be low wind, we hope the sailors have enough wind to sail more than one race!
Día 3 - 12 de abril
Hoy las regatas estaban programadas para las 12:00, pero había muy poco viento en ese horario (menos de 4 nudos) y la Comisión de Regata decidió izar bandera de inteligencia y mantener a la flota en tierra mientras esperaba que aumente la intensidad del viento. Así que los chicos esperaron en la carpa, y para matar el tiempo empezaron a jugar al metegol y hasta organizaron un campeonato de ping pong entre ellos.
Afortunadamente, en la tarde el viento aumentó a 5 nudos del Este y la Comisión de Regata bajó la bandera de inteligencia. Rápidamente los barcos se dirigieron a la cancha de regatas para la tercera prueba de este campeonato, que comenzó a las 16:57 y finalizó a las 18:01 horas. El ganador de esta regata fue Giovanni Coccoluto, de Italia. Detrás suyo llegó Arian Aleksander (Polonia) y luego Jean Paul de Trazegnies (Perú).
La tabla de posiciones, luego de esta tercera regata, quedó así: 1° Stig Steinfurth (Dinamarca), 2° Ignasi López Carcari (España) y 3° Giovanni Coccoluto (Italia).
Mañana las regatas están programadas para las 12:00 horas. El pronóstico indica que habrá poco viento, ¡esperamos que tengan más suerte y puedan completar más de una prueba!
Day 2 - April 11th
In the second day of races for Laser Standard under 21 there was very low wind. At 1 pm, the programmed time for the first race, there were only 3.5 kts. So the Race Committee decided to raise the AP flag and keep the fleet in land while waiting for the wind to increase.
Near 2 pm the AP flag was lowered and the boats started sailing to the race area. But at 3.58 pm the RC decided to send all the boats back to port because there was low wind.
Tomorrow the races will be at 12 pm, one hour before the programmed time. Hope we have stronger wind!
Día 2 - 11 de abril
El Segundo día de regatas para la clase Laser Standard under 21 contó con muy poco viento. A las 13:00, horario en el que estaban programadas las regatas, había sólo 3.5 nudos de intensidad. Por este motivo, la Comisión de Regata decidió izar bandera de inteligencia y mantener a la flota en tierra a la espera de un aumento en la intensidad del viento.
Alrededor de las 14:00 horas, se bajó la bandera y los regatistas comenzaron a dirigirse a la cancha de regatas. Pero a las 15:58 horas la CR envió todos los barcos de regreso a puerto por falta de viento.
Mañana las regatas serán a las 12:00, una hora antes de lo que estaba programado. ¡Esperamos que el viento sople con más intensidad!
Day 1 - April 10th
Today the sailors that are competing in Buenos Aires for this MacLaren Laser Standard under 21 World Championship sailed their first races.
There are 29 sailors from 19 different countries: Argentina, Austria, Australia, Canada, Curaçao, Chile, Croatia, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Japan, Norway, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Slovene, Ukraine, Uruguay and United States.
The races were programmed for 1 pm and they sailed two races with wind of 8 kts from the ESE.
The winner of the first race was Ignasi Lopez Carcare, from Spain. He was ahead the entire course and crossed the line followed by Agustín Vidal (Argentina) and Stig Steinfurth (Denmark).
The second race was won by an argentine sailor: Juan Ignacio Biava, who reached the front in the first leeward and continued there until the end. After him arrived Giovanni Coccoluto (Italy) and then Filip Kobielski (Poland).
After these two races the first place is for Ignasi Lopez Carcare. But this is just the beginning of this championship that will last until Sunday.

Hoy los regatistas que están participando en este Mundial MacLaren Laser Standard under 21 corrieron las primeras regatas del campeonato.
Este evento cuenta con la presencia de 29 competidores de 19 países: Argentina, Austria, Australia, Canadá, Curaçao, Chile, Croacia, Dinamarca, España, Italia, Japón, Noruega, Perú, Polonia, Portugal, Eslovenia, Ucrania, Uruguay y Estados Unidos.
Las pruebas del día estaban programadas para las 13:00 y se corrieron con dos regatas con viento de 8 nudos del ESE.
El ganador de la primera regata del campeonato fue el español Ignasi Lopez Carcare, quien se mantuvo en la delantera todo el recorrido y cruzó la línea de llegada seguido por Agustín Vidal (Argentina) y Stig Steinfurth (Dinamarca).
La segunda regata fue ganada por el argentino Juan Ignacio Biava, que alcanzó la punta en el primer sotavento y continuó en esa posición hasta el final. Detrás suyo llegaron Giovanni Coccoluto (Italia) y Filip Kobielski (Polonia).
Luego de estas dos regatas, la tabla de posiciones está encabezada por Ignasi Lopez Carcare. Pero este es sólo el inicio de este campeonato que se extenderá hasta el domingo, día en que se realizará la entrega de premios.

Buenos Aires, April 9th - The MacLaren Laser Standard under 21 World Championship has already started. This is one of the most important yachting events that will take place in our country this year and we are glad to be the Club where it takes place.
This day was dedicated to measurement and registration of all the competitors. We’ve received 29 sailors of 19 countries: Argentina, Austria, Australia, Canada, Curaçao, Chile, Croatia, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Japan, Norway, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Slovene, Ukraine, Uruguay and United States.
At 2 pm 24 boats went to the race area to compete on the practice race, but as usual no one crossed the line! Tomorrow at 1pm will start the first races of this championship.
Furthermore, this afternoon at 6 pm, there will be an open ceremony for all the participants in which we will receive many authorities of the Club as well as some ambassadors of other countries with sailors competing in this event. Hope you all enjoy it!
Buenos Aires, 9 de abril - Comenzó el campeonato mundial MacLaren Laser Standard under 21, uno de los eventos del Yachting internacional más importantes del año que se llevarán a cabo en nuestro país. Estamos complacidos de poder ser la sede en la que se está desarrollando.
Este día fue dedicado a la medición y acreditaciones de todos los competidores. Hemos recibido 29 regatistas de 19 países: Argentina, Austria, Australia, Canadá, Curaçao, Chile, Croacia, Dinamarca, España, Italia, Japón, Noruega, Perú, Polonia, Portugal, Eslovenia, Ucrania, Uruguay y Estados Unidos.
A las 14:00, 24 embarcaciones se dirigieron a la cancha de regatas para correr la Regata de Práctica, pero ninguno cruzó la línea de llegada. Mañana a las 13:00 horas comenzarán las primeras regatas del campeonato.
Además, esta tarde a las 18:00 horas se realizará la entrega de premios para todos los participantes. Estarán presentes muchas autoridades del Club y algunos embajadores con de los países representados en este campeonato. ¡Esperamos que lo disfruten!
